  • Academic Resource Center

    For academic support, students are encouraged to visit the ARC, a hub supporting students at all skill levels, in all stages of their undergraduate careers. The ARC offers: Tutoring, Supplemental Instruction, Study Skills Workshops, and Peer-Mentoring.   • UCR Library

    We are here to help! The UCR Library website provides access to many resources, including UC Library Search, Databases, and Getting Started With… Subject Guides. For individualized help with choosing a topic, finding sources, or developing your search strategy, use our 24/7 live chat with a librarian, visit the Rivera or Orbach Library support desks, or schedule a library research help session. Sessions are available in person, on Zoom, by phone, or through email.

  • ITS Help and Student Technology Support

    ITS Student Technology Services supports 9 student computer labs, including 7 public labs and 2 nonpublic labs, with approximately 293 public lab hours per week (with reduced hours during breaks and summer) available for academic use by all UCR students.

    Whether you need a machine to work on your paper, need to use specialized software required by your class, assistance with your R'Mail or Canvas accounts, getting on the network, or any other services used by UCR students, contact Bearhelp@ucr.edu.

  • Resident Services

    The Resident Services Office (RSO) helps communicate about the campus community, the facilities available to you on campus, and the surrounding areas, as well as maps and directions about the locations of particular buildings and services. They offer move-in and move-out information, equipment checkout, mail distribution, parking access, and respond to maintenance and housekeeping requests.

  • Dining

    The Dining Services website provides information about where to eat on campus. There are two residential dining locations on campus as well as several locations to order or pick up meals or snacks.  This is also where you would sign up for dining plans, or order catering for your student organizations.

Mental Health Resources

As a student, you may experience a range of issues that can cause barriers to learning, such as anxiety, depression, difficulty concentrating, relationship issues, and/or lack of motivation. This may lead to diminished academic performance or reduce your ability to participate in daily activities.  UCR has resources to help! If you or a friend are in distress or experiencing challenges that are causing disruptions in your life.  To speak to a 24/7 Crisis Counselor immediately, please call 951-UCR-TALK or 951-827-5531, option 1 to speak to a mental health professional or call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-TALK. Please refer to mentalhealth.ucr.edu for additional resources.

 

  • Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) (Therapy Treatment)

    CAPS provides a range of services and outreach meant to promote mental health, emotional resilience, and well-being throughout the campus community.  These services are FREE and Confidential to all registered UCR students, and provided by a diverse and multicultural staff dedicated to you!

  • Case Management (Crisis)

    Case management is UCR’s primary resource navigator on-campus. They provide non-clinical, professional, case management services to the UCR community. Our staff helps students to prioritize needs, problem solve, navigate complex university processes, discuss options, develop strategies, and refer students to on- and off-campus resources. Additionally, they provide support for Respondents who are involved in Title IX Investigations., consult and support faculty and staff with their concerns about distressed and distressing students.

  • The Well (Health Promotion and Education)

    The Well is UCR’s health promotion and education department and provides Highlanders with training, resources, skill building opportunities, and programming for a variety of topics including mental health, substance use, sexual health, physical activity, nutrition, and general well-being by professional and certified peer health educators. Through The Well’s Grab N Go service, students can grab FREE health-promoting supplies on-demand. In addition, peer health coaching, online training and assessments are available to all UCR students for FREE. The Well integrates health promotion through campus-wide policies, outreach, marketing campaigns, collaborations, and events.

  • SWIFT (Crisis)

    Coming Soon! Student Well-being, Intervention, and Follow-up Team (SWIFT) is a newly created department focused on mental health crisis response and intervention.  SWIFT will consist of licensed clinicians who will respond with Campus Safety Responders (non-sworn unarmed safety professionals) to support Highlanders in crisis. SWIFT will provide on-campus mobile crisis response and mental health support after hours.

    Note: SWIFT is not an ambulance or emergency service.

    If you [or another student] is in crisis. Please review the Red Folder for a quick guide on crisis consult. If the situation is a life-threatening emergency, call 9-1-1 or go to your nearest hospital emergency room.

  • Student Health Services (SHS)

    SHS is your campus stop for your medical and health care needs. They offer on-campus primary care, lab, pharmacy, and psychiatric services, as well as manage the UC Student Health Insurance Plan (UC SHIP).  Through them you can fill prescriptions, get referrals for off-campus specialists, and attend health-related workshops and events!

  • CARE

    CARE (Campus Advocacy, Resources & Education) is a Confidential intervention and prevention support program committed to ending sexual violence at UC Riverside. We seek to unite, inspire and cultivate a community culture of care by providing direct advocacy, resources and prevention educational programming related to issues of sexual assault, relationship violence and stalking to students, staff, faculty and UCR affiliates.

  • Title IX Resources

    For any concerns regarding gender-based discrimination, sexual harassment, sexual misconduct, stalking, or intimate partner violence, the University offers a variety of resources, including advocates on-call 24/7, counseling services, mutual no contact orders, scheduling adjustments, and disciplinary sanctions against the perpetrator.   • Adjustments for Pregnancy/Childbirth Related Issues

    Should you need modifications or adjustments to your course requirements because of documented pregnancy-related or childbirth-related issues, please contact me as soon as possible to discuss your options. Generally, modifications will be made where medically necessary and similar in scope to accommodations based on temporary disability.  Learn more about the rights of pregnant and parenting students by consulting the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
