R’Vision and High Impact Practices (HIPs): Catalysts for Student Transformation

 

High Impact Practices (HIPs) are a collection of well-established teaching methods that consistently demonstrate positive effects on student learning, engagement, and retention, particularly for historically underrepresented student groups. These practices move beyond traditional lecture formats to create more immersive and meaningful educational experiences.  

These practices are characterized by several key elements:

Research consistently shows that experiences incorporating active, hands-on learning, especially those addressing real-world problems, lead to significantly better student outcomes than traditional lectures. These methods cultivate critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration, resulting in deeper learning and improved academic success.
