UCR Summer STEM Camp
A final ceremony hosted at UCR’s Student Success CenterOn Wednesday June 28, 2023, the UCR Summer STEM Camp concluded with a final ceremony hosted at UCR’s Student Success Center.
The camp, run during the month of June and funded by a grant from NASA, was for local area high school students to explore cutting-edge topics in science. The camp covered a range of STEM subjects: Python Programming, Star Gazing, Astrophotography, Data Analytics, Virtual Reality, and Drones.
At the closing ceremony, hosted by the XCITE Center for Teaching and Learning, Dr. Bahram Mobasher, the Director of the Summer Camp, spoke about the importance of STEM education for students and thanked all the students and parents in attendance for their support of this camp.
All the students who attended the camp received a public acknowledgement of their efforts and a Certificate of Completion. Also, attending and speaking at this ceremony was UCR’s Vice Provost and Dean for Undergraduate Education Dr. Louie Rodriquez and Riverside Unified School District Superintendent Renee Hill.
