Joey Mavity has been awarded the University Innovation Alliance Fellowship position for UC Riverside beginning February 6, 2015. UC Riverside is committed to improving the 4-year graduation rate for all students and as an ethnic, economically, and ideologically diverse campus is pleased to work with other major universities to help their graduation rates, as well. The University Innovation Alliance is a major vehicle for this change and its goal is to help build repeatable and scalable approaches to improving graduation rates across higher education institutions in the United States.
Joey has a history of developing programs to improve access for traditionally underserved student populations. Additionally, his leadership in technology and academics brings valuable experience as UC Riverside looks to implement an analytic system that can help identify students who would most benefit from more intensive assistance in their college experience. Prior to joining UC Riverside, Joey worked as the IT Architect at Azusa Pacific University where he also served as the Director of Debate. Most recently he worked in the private sector as a software developer for supply chain and courier services.
