UCR Students Awarded Goldwater Scholarships

Riverside, Ca –

Two UCR students have been awarded the Barry Goldwater Scholarship. This is a very prestigious national award. Per the Goldwater press release "Goldwater Scholars have very impressive academic qualifications that have garnered the attention of prestigious post-graduate fellowship programs. Recent Goldwater Scholars have been awarded 86 Rhodes Scholarships, 123 Marshall Awards, 123 Churchill Scholarships, and numerous other distinguished fellowships such as the National Science Foundation Graduate Fellowships."

Geoff Pronovost
Geoff works with Dr. Monica Carson on a receptor in the brain that is classically identified with anti-inflammatory reactions. Geoff is an outstanding scholar, among the many recognitions he has earned he is also a Chancellor's Research Fellow, University Honors student, and a UC LEADS student.


Julianne Rolf
Her research focuses on the use of membrane bioreactors to reverse osmosis systems to develop a method for treatment and reuse of wastewater in the semiconductor industry. She works under the direction of Dr. David Jassby and Alexander Dudchenko. Julian is an active member of the UCR community, she is a University Honors student, UC LEADS student, an ARC Peer Counselor.
