Deadline Extended to May 9 in Search for Howard H. Hays Professor and Director of University Honors
The Office of Undergraduate Education (UE) announces an extension for applications Director of University Honors. The application deadline has been extended to May 9 .

It is particularly important to the Office of Undergraduate Education that candidates from a wide variety of backgrounds be considered for this position. The Office will be consulting with the Senate, the deans, and administrators involved in faculty development to build a diverse applicant pool.
The position will carry the title Howard H. Hays Professor and Director of University Honors. The successful candidate will also serve as Associate Vice Provost in UE.
The Howard H. Hays Professor and Director of University Honors is responsible for providing vision and intellectual leadership for the University Honors (UH) Program. UH is a four-year program enrolling approximately 200 new students each fall and more than 600 total students. These students take five two-unit courses together during their undergraduate career in honors, as well as an Ignition Seminar offered by UH in freshman year. Other Honors courses are offered by the academic departments. The program culminates in a faculty-mentored senior research or creative activity project.
University Honors is located in a wing of the second floor of Olmsted Hall. The Director will have an office in Olmsted as well as an office on the third floor of the Surge Building.
