UE Welcomes Assistant Vice Provost Christine Victorino

Riverside, Ca –

UE is excited to welcome our new Assistant Vice Provost Christine Victorino, who joined the Office on June 10.
Dr. Victorino will be responsible for leadership of new initiatives, undergraduate research, and assessment. Christine brings with her nearly 20 years of experience in higher education. Most recently, she served as Director of Academic Assessment at Pitzer College, where she collaborated with faculty and staff on assessment of student learning outcomes and college-wide educational objectives.

Christine previously worked at the Center for Teaching and Learning at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, where she conducted faculty development workshops, facilitated learning communities, and administered faculty grants. She has also worked at the University of Guelph in Canada, where she led local community engagement programs, developed nationally-recognized alternative spring break programs, and initiated international programs in Latin America, Asia, and Africa. Christine also worked at non-profit organizations, including Volunteers in Asia at Stanford University, the LaFetra Operating Foundation, and Canada World Youth.

Christine completed her B.S. in Biology and Chemistry at Queen's University (Canada), Bachelor of Education at the University of Toronto (Canada), M.A. in Education at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, and Ph.D. in Education at University of California, Santa Barbara. Her research focuses on faculty and student outcomes in higher education, and she has published in The Journal of Higher Education and presented her work at multiple conferences, including the American Educational Research Association, the Association for the Study of Higher Education, the American Psychological Association, and American Society of Engineering Education. She has taught undergraduate- and graduate-level courses as Adjunct Professor at Pitzer College and UC Santa Barbara.
