Vice Provost Steven Brint on the National and International Stage

Riverside, Ca –

Vice Provost Steven Brint will be presenting work nationally and internationally over the next three months. Brint will be at UC-Berkeley on Oct. 9 to discuss reforms of undergraduate education in the United States with a group of international higher education leaders gathered for an international symposium on the student experience in research universities. Brint will speak to education leaders from China, Brazil, England, Germany, the Netherlands, and Russia, as well as the United States. As co-leader of the SERU Consortium, Brint will be speaking at the Reinvention Center in Washington DC on November 9. The Reinvention Center is an organization of leading research universities focusing on improvement of undergraduate education. Brint will discuss the research of the SERU Consortium and applications of the Consortium's "Academic Profile" tool, which allows university departments to compare student outcomes with those from comparable departments nationally. Brint will share the stage with Steve Chatman, SERU Project Manager, and Ron Huesman, Jr., developer of the "Academic Profile" tool. In December, Brint will travel to Santiago, Chile to address university rectors and officials of the Chilean Ministry of Education on "comparing methods for classifying U.S. higher education institutions."
