About the Office of Undergraduate Education
Under the guidance of Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education, David Fairris, the Office of Undergraduate Education promotes undergraduate student success and provides campus-wide advocacy for undergraduate education at the University of California, Riverside. The office works in collaboration with colleges, academic units, and faculty to enhance the student learning experience.
Current initiatives include:
- enhancing the academic excellence, cross cultural knowledge, and civic engagement of undergraduates
- connecting students in academic difficulty to resources needed to successfully engage in university-level work
- fostering experiential opportunities such as internships, first-year learning communities, undergraduate research, and study abroad programs
- exposing faculty to teaching pedagogies and classroom technologies that complement the learning styles of our diverse student body
- promoting the assessment of programs and measurement of learning outcomes to ensure that student success is a reality
