Honors Convocation 2012
Chancellor Timothy P. White and the Faculty of the University of California, Riverside invite you to attend the 2012 Honors Convocation. The Honors Convocation ceremony recognizes the best and brightest students and their achievements. This ceremony will take place on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at the University Theatre on campus. Check-ins start at 6:30 PM and end at 7:00 PM. The program starts at 7:00 PM and will end at 8:30 PM.

Q: What is the Honors Convocation?
A: This award ceremony recognizes the best and brightest students and their scholarly achievements. The Honors Convocation Recognition and Awards will be presented by the Dean and/or Associate Dean of your College. Students with a cumulative GPA of 3.9 will also be recognized.
Q: Who is invited to this event? Why am I invited?
A: If you received an invitation in the mail to attend this event, you have been nominated by a faculty person, your college dean or department committee to receive recognition at the 2012 Honors Convocation.
Q: Can my friends and family attend?
A: You and your guests (3 max.) are invited to attend the ceremony on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 from 6:30 - 7:00 p.m. reception; 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. program.
Q: How do I RSVP for myself and my guests?
A: RSVP online or call (951) 827-5323. Let us know how many guests will be attending the event. Please RSVP by Monday May 7, 2011.
Q: Do I need to be there the whole time?
A: Please plan to stay for the entire event 7:00 - 8:30 p.m.
Q: Is there a dress code?
A: Yes. Business casual is the attire for this event. Please, no jeans.
Q: When do I wear the medallion and/or pin(s)?
A: The Dean's Academic Distinction Awards recognizes undergraduate students maintaining a GPA of 3.9 or above by awarding a pin each year the GPA is maintained. In their graduating year, their award is a medallion on which their pins may be placed. The decorated medallion may be worn over their graduation gown during Commencement Ceremonies.
Q: Where can I pick up the Honors Convocation Pin if I am unable to attend the ceremony?
Your pin will be available after the ceremony at University, Honors, 2316 Olmsted Hall.
